Grisly Murder of Bangladeshi MP: 3 Arrested in Elaborate Plot Involving Dismemberment and Disposal
In a gruesome and meticulously planned Bangladeshi MP Murder, the Bengal CID has uncovered bloodstains and several plastic bags in a New Town apartment, which they believe were used to dispose of the body parts of Anwarul Azim Anar, a Bangladeshi MP. Authorities claim the MP was strangled, dismembered, and his body parts were distributed across the city. The shocking details of the murder reveal that the crime was orchestrated by Akhtaruzzaman, a US citizen of Bangladeshi origin. Acting on his orders, Jihad Hawladar, along with four other Bangladeshi nationals, executed the murder in the New Town apartment.
On Wednesday, Bangladesh Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan confirmed Anar’s murder and the arrest of three suspects. Investigations indicate that the MP, missing since May 14, two days after his arrival in Kolkata, was killed, skinned, chopped into pieces, and disposed of in plastic packets.
The breakthrough in the case came with the arrest of Jihad Hawladar, an illegal immigrant from Bangladesh residing in Mumbai. Hawladar confessed to his involvement in the crime. The investigation began when Gopal Biswas, a Kolkata resident acquainted with Anar, reported the MP missing on May 17, a day after Anar disappeared following a doctor’s appointment.
Investigators revealed that Anar was killed in a New Town apartment, where his body was dismembered in a washroom. The perpetrators skinned and minced the flesh, mixing it with turmeric powder to delay decomposition, and packed the remains into plastic bags. They cleaned the washroom with acid before vacating the apartment.
CID detectives, with assistance from Bangladeshi security agencies, discovered that the MP was lured into the flat by a woman and killed by contract killers. The murder was planned at least a month in advance by businessman Md Akhtaruzzaman, who paid 4 crore Bangladeshi taka for the hit. The killers returned to Bangladesh after the crime, having stayed in a Chinar Park hotel until May 17.
